It could be. A lot of times restless legs are a side effect of not having enough sleep. Although in my case, I get enough sleep but still I have a horrible problem with restless legs, especially because I sit down for most of the day. My aunt suggested that I try taking natural vitamin E. It works like a charm. went out and bought the natural vitamin E and just take a pill whenever I feel that restlessness in my legs. It works, literally, within about five minutes.

Restless leg syndrome, is just as it states. Restless, when one sits down, cannot, or unable to stop movement of legs, and feel they must get up and walk. Some even report that it seems there legs are so restless, that they (the legs) are actually walking without them. Not that is pretty darn restless. As for pain, to my knowledge pain is usually not associated with restless leg syndrome. Sounds as if perhaps you pulled, injured a muscle, or nerve. is there any visible redness, swelling, edema(fluid present), if so seek medical attention immediately for this could be a sign of a Deep Vein Thrombus(DVT). Otherwise please do seek treatment from a physician asap, for you should not have to suffer with such pain..Especially in the 21st century, when so many options are available. Good luck to you.

What you are describing here is not restless leg syndrome -
you are getting Charley Horses - it hits you at night I get them
at 6:00 am & yes, it is a knot, the pain shoots down to your toes.
I have been told when this happens to straighten your legs & then
point your toes upward & this seems to help me. Also, I am on
Quinine Sulfate - check with your doctor, this really helps too. Its
a muscle thing.

Restless Leg Syndrome is when your legs feel like their moving,
but they are not, some experience pain, some experience
the feeling like bugs are crawling up & down their legs. It isn't
good. Go to Medline Plus.com, or WebMD.com, or Mayo Clinic
.com & check there to find more symtoms & possible help.

As restless leg mimics a lot of other problems you should really see a doctor. It may have nothing to do with restless leg syndrom. It sounds more like something to do with the vascular system. You may have problems with vaicose veins or blood clots in your legs which can be deadly.

Sounds more like cramps than restless leg syndrome. You probably need more potassium in your diet. With restless leg syndrome, just like it says, you have uncontrollable urges to move your legs. They feel like they have an overabundance of energy.

That could be a Charlie's horse. Restless legs are just that, restless. You feel like you need to move and kick your legs a lot. It's not painful, just urgent.

Restless leg syndrome is like sleep apnea... you wake up a lot and are still tired. You have something else.
