By 'manly' I guess I mean rugged, heavy set, 5 o' clock shadow, chisled jaw types.

I'm fairly young looking for my age (bit of a pretty boy) and am quite successful with girls, but often wonder what it would be like if I looked kind of 'meaner' if you know what I mean. :D

When I say boyish I don't mean anything like wearing makeup or looking like a girl, I just mean that there's no boxer's nose or monobrow going on. More fresh faced and clean cut looking is what I mean, like the boyband stereotypes or David Beckham.

I'm making an assumption here, but it seems as though the younger women like boyish blokes and the older (I don't mean old) women prefer manly men. I'll bet all you older gals had a thing for Nick Rhodes in the 80's though, and he's a pretty boy. ;)

I prefer boyish-looking guys, kind of like your avatar.

I don't think you would be any more popular if you were the rugged type; you'd just attract a different type of girl.

Growing up in a household where rock music was all I heard I like my men manly with the warrior thing about them, nicely muscular and long hair. For me a guy who looks too boy bandish wouldn't do it for me. I guess it is the primeval part of me, wanting a strong mate and not someone who I would have to battle with of a morning to get by the mirror or spend more money on lotions etc than me. Sorry but that is what is conjured in my mind when I hear the words pretty boy.

I have been attracted to both types.

I actually saw a program once (Dateline or something of the sort) that said that it all depends on where a woman is in her cycle as to what sort of man she is most attracted to. For instance, during ovulation, she is attracted to rugged men with strong features b/c she wants to procreate with these type of genes. But then during other times during her cycle, she'll be attracted to men who look like they would be nurturing fathers - maybe what you refered to as "boyish good looks".

By far, manly looking. If I wanted a guy that looks like a girl (pretty boy), then I'd just date a woman.

I don't really have a preference when it comes to that...

I do have a "type" though... I LOVE dark haired Italian guys (I'm Italian as well). BUT not just any Italian, sometimes I'll see a guy that is exactly my type, but I'm not really attracted to him- there's something else that I can't describe- maybe chemistry? Who knows...

Manly, of course. Why would I want to be with a man if he was girlish looking. Might as well be with a girl.
