I had my daughter 6 weeks ago. I have not yet resumed my period, but I have had cramping and blood tinged discharge for 3 days now. I am worried that something is wrong, or is this normal? I have resumed having sex, and am using condoms. I also started Ortho Tri Cyclen birth control 2 weeks ago if that helps.

When you keep bleeding after you have a baby that is your body's way of telling you to slow down. You really aren't suppose to resume a sex life for at least six weeks after you give birth. Put your feet up, relax and take it easy on the sex for a couple of weeks. You should probably call your doctor too.

I am assuming it is normal because I too had my baby almost six weeks ago. I quit bleeding for about four days and then i started to have blood tinged discharge. It is dark like it is old blood.

I go for my check up on thursday but I am guessing it is normal if it is happening to you too.,

It is normal not to have a periods for prolonged periods of time after child birth. You probably have the blood tinge because of the pill.

This happened to me and my doc said that it was indeed my period. Some people get their period back sooner than others. Since I was breastfeeding when my son was first born I stopped bleeding sooner but I stopped breastfeeding and my period came back almost right away. I would still check with my doc and stop having sex until everything is cleared up and OK'd.

You should ask the doctor and discontinue sex untill you get it sorted out. It is possible you resumed activities a little too early. It also always possible you are pregnant again. Yes it really is possible.

it is normal.. and if your breast feeding it will sometime stop your period and you are left with spotting... sometimes sex can make you spot/discharge as will
