I think if you love all animals and not only the human kind you are more evolved as a human

We should be compassionate toward animals and not cause them needless suffering, but someone whose concern for animals is equal to their concern for human beings is misguided. Animals are part of this earthly environment, and will cease to exist along with the rest of it. Human beings are created in the image and likeness of God, and are destined to live forever in His company. One human life is worth more than the combined lives of all animals on Earth.

Everyone is as evolved as the next person. But some people are capable of more love than others. Some people are animal lovers, and some are not. Some people love animals, but can't stand people! Just like some people love dogs and some prefer cats. I know people who absolutely hate cats, but they still are nice people. I prefer people who love animals. I think those people have a lot of love to give and a lot of understanding of animals' psyches. I'm a cat person, and I feel as though I can read a cat's mind at times. I just understand their psychology.

But do you love all other human beings as much as you love yourself? And act upon it?
Otherwise, loving animals as little as we love our fellows is not much of a progress.
