i did four home pregancy tests three weeks ago each had a positive result. i had spotting, a heavy bleed on one day and cramping this week so i attended my doctor. she performed a urine pregnancy test which gave a negative result and concluded that the home pregnancy tests i used were perhaps faulty and that my pregnancy did not exist. i am still experiencing cramping but no bleeding is my doctor right or could i be experiencing a miscarriage?

i think you should go back to your doctor if the cramping is unusual for you. it doesn't sound like you are pregnant, but still if the cramping and bleeding is unusual, they need see if soemthing else is wrong. pain and bleeding needs to be checked out.

they should have given you a blood test....its the only way to tell for sure. I dont know what the one girl on here is talking about, but shes got it backwards. The are tons of false negatives, but rarely false positives so you probably were pregnant. You may have had a miscarriage but I would go see another doctor about it because if you didnt then you need to get proper care for the baby and if you did then you need to be sure you are ok. I've heard of women who tested negative the entire pregnancy on the urine tests and positive on the blood tests so you cant go by them.

I have been there hun trust me sometimes they dont know what they are talking about (dr's) But you are prob having a miscarrage. And I am very sorry for you. They don't really take it seriously until you are further along. Theres really nothing they can do, but if you had 4 positives I can pretty much guarantee they all were not wrong. But I wish you luck int he futer preg dept. I had 5 before I finally had my daughter. It will happen for you when the time is right for your body. I am sorry and good luck in the future.

I'd bet on the side of early term miscarraige. If you can't afford the repeated doctor's visits, set up an appointment with your county health nurse or a free women's clinic and get checked out. Out of curiousity...why did you have so many pregnancy tests? No big deal, just curious...

I hate to admit it but I myself hate over the counter preg test. I like the idea of getting a blood test. I heard it is accurate, and the doctor can answer all the question you might have. Good Luck.

It very well could have been positive. On the day you had the heavy bleading you could have misscarried. Its very common, and most women dont even know they are pregnant. And it is possible that the tests are faulty, but prehaps you will never know.

Sometimes there are certain viruses that can cause a positive read on a test. It has happened to me before. Don't know how but it does.

Check with your doctor again, but there are many false positives and hardly ever any false negatives.
