He is right to stop the meds if he is having a reaction. Try calling the triage nurse at the ER. Tell them the facts and ask if he should be brought in.

If he was almost done with his script he's probably ok. Make sure he declares Keflex as an allergen next time he goes for medical care. Keflex is a cephlosporin, it is slightly related to the Penicillin's, there is a 10% chance of cross sensitivities. Watch for throat swelling, if he has any difficulty whatsoever breathing take him in immediately or call 911. Keflex is often used for skin infections but not limited to that. To ease his rash have him bathe in Aveeno Colloidal Oatmeal, and he can take Benadryl orally or the cream, or OTC cortisone cream to quiet the rash. If he just started his RX then call the physician for a new different prescription.

If the rash is not that bad, he should be able to get away with waiting until his doctors office is open. Definately call right away - leave a message. If the rash is really bad, you might consider taking him to the ER. Call the hospital just to be on the safe side, they may suggest otherwise.

if he has a rash now, he may be allergic to the keflex. you should definitely call the ER and check if he should be brought in. you also need to be on the look out if he's having any other symptoms such as trouble breathing

Stop immediately. A rash is an indication that he is allergix to something in the medication. Phone the doctor to get clarrification, or may they can change the medication. I got the same reaction to penicillin.

You can also go to an urgent-care office, too. I had hives from that antibiotic. They gave me a cortisone shot to stop the allergic reaction.
He should definitely NOT take anymore.
