We should make Mexico and the other countries who have encouraged their people to slither into the USA illegally pay for the welfare, subsidized housing, education and medical services they abused. We should make them pay for encouraging the illicit act of illegal entry itself. Sanctions, fines, retribution, whatever you want to call it.

No. Sanaction on Mexico by the Untied States would cause economic collapse in Untied States, and Canada because Mexico trades more with America than all of Europe combined. People don't realize Mexico and Canada take up a lot of our excess production of commodities up, and we take up there surplus of commodities. Sanctions would hurt America as much as Mexico its a stupid question to ask. If a embargo with Mexico occured the America per Capita income would drop 10 to 15% within one year of doing putting embargo on Mexico. We need to be honest withourshevles Mexico today is what dixie south look like to the North after the civil war. People need to think things thru before they say something like that

It's not easy to "fix" a country, and no the United Nations shouldn't do that. If they did have the right to do that, than every country would have to make sanctions against each other.

I don't think so. The UN doesn't have very much power as it is. It still has a fairly respectable say, though. If it just makes sanctions to fix countries which are not doing badly in comparison, it will lose that respect.

No, I don't think so. I do think that Mexico should open their borders and try to recruit intellectuals that know about public administration and law enforcement so they could get rid of the corruption and bad management of their country because I don't think that they have the capability to do it them self. If they want to better their country that's the only way they could do it. But these people can't come from Latin America because they are all the same.

Trade sanctions would probably hurt them more than help them, since they rely on other countries' economies. Another idea is to make it a prison colony, like Australia. They already have a ton of criminals, plus the 20 million they've sent to us.

Gee, wouldn't it be nice to have a UN so powerful that it could make countries fix themselves?
All the people in the Hurricane Katrina cleanup, where did they come from again? Not the highpaid yankees, the low or nopaid volunteers?

No the UN cannot fix itself.
This is not an immigration problem anymore.
This is an invasion problem. Illegal immigration has become an invasion from another country that has threatened to go to the UN because the US wants to close the borders to illegal immigrants.
