"Normal"! If you say 'white' she will say 'black'. She is going to be this way for a long, long time. Its about a 10 year phase. Listen to her, but make sure the final call is your way. Pick your battles. If you don't you will die from exhaustation! :)

Its the age! She is trying to show you that
1.) She is "mature"
2.) that she feels smart and confident

I would worry more about teaching her how to disagree without arguing and to accept the fact that sometimes she knows more about things that you, and sometimes you know more than her. And thats the bottom line.

Good luck - I have that problem with my six year old. LOL - but the above helps. I will ask her questions she really does know and act like Id ont know (like about her fave book, or about a show) then she can feel "smarter" than me about something that is not that big of a deal, right? LOL

Because you let her.It is O k for a child to express themselves, but there is a difference in talking with her and her arguing back when to tell her to do something. In my opinion you need to get that under control. There are some things that you say to her that do not deserve a response, and you should tell her so.If you don't do it now you are going to have a harder time with her when she gets older, and that could mean trouble.

Maybe you didn't make yourself more forceful when she was younger? Or maybe it's just her age.
