I would make sure that they had tried every other option before having surgery. I would ignore what doctors have to say until I had done this. They will not agree, because there is no money for them!

If a family member needed a kidney to survive and live a better life, I would definitely do it. You have to think about the surgery and recovery time and how you will handle those things. Get everything in order so that it will be easier for you during recovery time. I think you would feel great if you helped save a member of your family's life. Think about how good you will feel to see them recovering and being able to live a more normal, more comfortable life. I would think there would be a great bond that develops between the giver and the person you've given it to.

There are no issues. I think if i was put in that situation and I had a spare kidney then I would give them it because you don't want to be helded responsible of leaving somebody to die.
