Lot of confusion but most people ? bible translations say word was God. Other translations say Word was (a) God. the second makes sense that God does not hid in confusion or in a trinity. Proverbs chapter 8 by vs 14 on , Jesus is describing himself here.
Another part of Confusion handed down generation by generation, is that Jesus lived before the world was created. After reading Prover ch 8, it makes seance. Jesus is also divine in that he has a place at the right hand of God. What his means he has power and authority to rule over angels and heavenly creatures, and including creation on earth. It give him authority but not Godhead, or God ship.

God is a trinity. We are made in God's image. Body, soul & spirit. The Trinity God is Father, Word & Holy Spirit.
Old testament the LORD God is One LORD.
Jesus Christ is LORD and is male. Father God is like the Greatest Grand Dad ever. The Holy Spirit is Spiritual.
Elohim is Father, Word & Holy Spirit. Elohim created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1.
Also, if someone is the Son of God, person is of God. Jesus said he is the First and the Last. He is in the Beginning and in the End. Check Genesis 1:1 & Revelation 22:21. Jesus is the Ancient of Days revealed in Daniel and in Revelation. That is the bodily form like a son of man.

This seems to be one of the most popular questions...and it is a very important question because if we do not believe in the Christ if the Bible, we will not find salvation.
Jesus said: I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (John 8:24)
In this verse alone, Jesus does state that He is God for He actually said we need to believe that He is I AM.
Sure we can find verses that make it appear that Jesus is not God...verses like Jesus is the beginning of God's creation but this does not mean HE was created. Beginning in the Greek also means the power of or power behind something. Jesus was the means of creation.
Another verse states Jesus is first born of all creation but this does not indicate he was born first. First born is a legal term in the Bible also. It shows Jesus is the rightful heir to the throne of David just as David was called the first born but he was not born first.

He replaced into no longer chatting with himself yet he's God. that's no longer a contradiction yet a paradox. Jesus replaced into conversing into yet another measurement of God, noted as the daddy, it is needless to say a metaphor. in basic terms a cult might inform you that God had intercourse with a woman to father a newborn. Jesus is God interior the flesh. God humbled himself via growing to be a guy, experiencing life basically as we do, the enticements, soreness, having to stay via faith. God is one in 3 dimensions. that's outstanding how God does issues in this form of way that the proud have confidence in basic terms interior the human traditions they comprehend however the easy-or-backyard hearts get it. Cults of Christianity deny that Jesus is God. those are the Mormons, Jehovah's witnesses and so plenty greater that have sprung up interior the previous few hundred years.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
There are any number of scriptures to study, but start with this one. Of course John 1;1 is probably the most popular among Christians.
John 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1;14 makes it very clear that John 1;1 is refering to Jesus.
Jhn 1:14 ¶ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

God made us in His image, meaning(to my understanding) that we are one but have differant parts, and anything we speak into existance will become real,(air plans, phone etc. all these things were science fiction until some one shared their ideas with others) God is God Jesus is His Word(John 1:1) and the Holy Spirit is His hands. God can do anything, so if He can do anything then He can make His Word flesh and send His hands to prove His Word."In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompied by action, is dead." James 2:17. If you talk is not those words yours and a part of you. And if you move something with your hands, ain't they your actions?"....because what is concieved in her is from the Holy Spirit." Matt. 1:19, "" The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel- which means "God with us.""Matt. 1:23 "No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only (begotten Son), who is at the Fathers side, has made Him known.(John 1:18) He is the Son of God and is our God. "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to recieve power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" Rev. 5:12 "To Him that sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever!" Rev 5:13. God the Father gave us to His Son Jesus as a gift. Jesus our God says worship the Father and the Father says "also worship the Son." "My father, who has given themto me, is greater than all: on one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are One." John 10:29-30

>>". However, since Jesus came to earth and paid for our sins and became our advocate with Heavenly Father,"<<
why do you need one? you can't talk to God personally? I can....
>>" he is therefore God of this earth. They are both Gods, one being the son of the other."
you do realize this is polytheism, and Idolotry, PRECISELY what the first 3 commandments say NOT to do, right?
its amazing, how people can describe the "god system" that they believe in, it have the word "gods" or some number other than 1, and still insist they are monotheistic

You can start with John 1:14, then go to ITim 3:16.
However, Jesus is not the God of the Earth. Scripture teaches that Satan is the God of this world.
2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
JOHN 8:58
Verily, verily This is an expression used only in John. It is a strong affirmation denoting particularly the great importance of what was about to be affirmed. See the notes at John 3:5.
Before Abraham was Before Abraham lived.
I am The expression I am, though in the present tense, is clearly designed to refer to a past time. Thus, in Ps. 90:2, "From everlasting to everlasting thou art God." Applied to God, it denotes continued existence without respect to time, so far as he is concerned. We divide time into the past, the present, and the future. The expression, applied to God, denotes that he does not measure his existence in this manner, but that the word by which we express the present denotes his continued and unchanging existence. Hence, he assumes it as his name, I AM, and I AM THAT I AM (Exo. 3:14). Compare Isa. 44:6; 47:8. There is a remarkable similarity between the expression employed by Jesus in this place and that used in Exodus to denote the name of God. The manner in which Jesus used it would strikingly suggest the application of the same language to God. The question here was about his pre-existence. The objection of the Jews was that he was not 50 years old, and could not, therefore, have seen Abraham. Jesus replied to that that he existed before Abraham. As in his human nature he was not yet 50 years old, and could not, as a man, have existed before Abraham, this declaration must be referred to another nature; and the passage proves that, while he was a man, he was also endowed with another nature existing before Abraham, and to which he applied the term (familiar to the Jews as expressive of the existence of God) I AM; and this declaration corresponds to the affirmation of John (John 1:1), that he was in the beginning with God, and was God. This affirmation of Jesus is one of the proofs on which John relies to prove that he was the Messiah (John 20:31), to establish which was the design of writing this book.
