I assume you mean baldness caused by treatment? That depends on whether chemo drugs, radiation or a combination of the two was used. Chemotherapy almost always causes baldness. Radiation does not ,unless used on the head. A combination of chemotherapy either after, before or hand-in-hand with radiation would, most likely, also cause baldness, a small price to pay for a possible cure.

I too had cancer in my leg (Ewings Sarcoma) you do go bald from the chemotherapy they administer not the cancer itself. I even purchased a wig before I had my cousin shave my head but later found that being bald is not as bad as you may think. I thought I would never leave the house. I found that with my support system (family and friends) there was nothing to it. I was told by many that I was a beautiful bald woman, at the time I was 24. Try and make light of the matter. Your hair will grow back it may even be prettier than before. Fighting the cancer and winning is the thing I worried about the most and thank god I won the battle. God Luck and God Bless. Remember your beautiful with hair or without your still the same person.

First thing please do not address anyone, you have cancer -
Cancer of any type, does not make bald. It is the side effect of one of the common treatment for all cancers i.e. Chemotherapy in which chemical substances are used to treat disease. In its modern-day use, it refers primarily to cytotoxic drugs used to treat cancer.
All the hair will fall within 15 days of the therapy but will grow back to original state in about 6 months time.

Hair loss during cancer treatment is a very individual thing. Some people lose their hair and others do not. There are a variety of non-drug treatments which can be used during radiation or chemo treatments that can reduce hair loss. Check with your oncologist for possible hair therapies.

If you are undergoing chemo the chances that you will experience hair loss will occur after the second treatment. Cancer does not make you lose your hair but chemo does.
