Keep drinking as much as you can, and then ask again in about an hour.

Absolutely not!, unless you do it on a daily basis. I find drinking alchohol on your own at times helps to unwind and reflect on many personal aspects. Besides, didn`t you mention about writing and drinking? I reckon drinking brings out the boldness and reservation that you intuitively don`t connect when you are thorougly sober. Well, lol, again depending on what you are writing..if it`s anything to do with figures and reports then, it doesn`t help I suppose. Sometimes its for a change having a couple on your own and doing something productive ( ie. writing) ,being a social buttefly can be quite exhausting at times. anyway..if you do imposed yourself to the question of alchoholism..then, maybe you should do a test , otherwise...if it`s occasionally...then, there is nothing wrong and to worry about.

mmm-I don't think so, but then I'm biased about that label. I think too many people take drinking alcohol, or smoking pot, or taking drugs recreation-ally wa-y-y to seriously--others not seriously enough.
The real question to ask yourself is, "is alcohol causing problems for me in my life?"
You're at home, relaxing, not isolating (as evidenced by you being active on this site. Enjoy yourself--and e-mail me, I'll join you in a drink & some intelligent conversation. :)

just the fact that your asking means you have a valid question but you need to ask yourself,if you suspect you are,and want to change it, you might want to go to another source and contact AA or professional support. there are many community services' just do a search for your local ones.If you decide you are not an alcoholic maybe you just need a new interest or hobby.

Alcohol becomes a problem when it effects your social life, work life, or relationships (which you might not realize its effecting). Also, if you feel you HAVE to drink, or have an overwhelming urge, or only do it when your stressed/depressed, it may be a problem

Well....if you run out of alcohol and can't write until you purchase some more, I'd say you might have a problem.

If you do this a lot then maybe. if it is just this once then probably not. drinking alone is a sign of alcoholism though.

That is a habit that i have long had and enjoyed, it does not mean you are an alcoholic, but it never hurts to be vigilant
