No, not at all---Hell is not a place of eternal torment like Christendom teaches. The Bible hell is where all people go when they die. It is the common grave.
How do we know that hell is the grave? Well, we can read many verses in God's Word that assures us of that fact. Here are but a few:

Psalm 139:8--"If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there." (If hell is a fiery, hot place of torture, would David think God (Psalms 83:18) would be there ?)
Amos 9:2--"Though they dig into hell, From there My hand shall take them; Though they climb up to heaven, From there I will bring them down." ( Can you dig into fire? No, but you can dig into the earth and God can find you no matter where you try to hide.)
Jonah 2:2--"And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice." ( The belly of the fish would have been Jonah's grave, if God had not rescued him.)
Ecclesiates 3:19,20--"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again."
( Humans and animals go to the same place when they die)
Revelation 1:18--"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." (Why would Jesus need keys to hell? Because the dead do not have to stay in hell forever; they can be resurrected back to life.)
Revelation 20:13-14--"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." (Hell delivers up the dead, meaning a resurrection from the grave), and what happens to death & hell? They are thrown into the lake of fire, meaning total destruction.
God is love and tortures no one.
The price we pay for being born imperfect sinners is that we all die, but as seen above, our enemy death will soon be no more. --"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."__Revelation 21:4

It is punishment for Christians who judge others by telling them they are going to hell for not believing what they believe.

God gave us free will. We can love Him and obey Him, or we can reject Him. Like any parent or lawgiver, God created a penalty for sin. In our system of earthly laws, if someone commits a crime, they're sentenced to prison, or death, or are fined. God's laws have the same type of system in place. Yet mankind rejected God, almost right off the bat. God could have said, "To hell with my creation (literally)," but He didn't. He still loved us, and wanted to reclaim us. He set up a system of sacrifice by which people could be forgiven of their sins. Yet mankind STILL rejected God. So God said, "enough!" God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, and suffered a sacrificial death for us all. Through this death and resurrection, we can all be saved! There's just one caveat. We must exercise that free will and accept this. It's true that hell still awaits those who reject God, but I believe all people will have the opportunity to accept God or reject Him. God won't hold people accountable for what they could never learn, and the gospel will reach everyone somehow. This is more forgiving than our criminal justice system, in which ignorance of the law is no excuse. You can dwell on the fact that people will go to hell (because God is just), or you can thank God that He has given us the opportunity to spend eternity in heaven with Him (because God loves us). And yes, a murderer who accepts Christ will go to heaven where an honorable atheist will go to hell. Why? Because we can't do ANYTHING ourselves to earn the right to go to heaven. We literally go there by the grace of God. A murderer who repents and accepts that grace will be saved, where a humanitarian who rejects the grace of God will not.

no, it is our choice. God loves everyone and wants them to spend eternity with God but wants us to choose it not be forced into it. To this end God made a simple rule, Each soul as it entire time on earth to choose me if at the death of the body the soul did not choose me then I will grant it's wish and send it away from me and all my goodness.

No, heaven is punishment if you are a Muslim and a female virgin.

Imagine being a "good" Muslim women all your life...Burka and all. The day you die, you get to heaven and find you are 1 of 72 "special" guests at the welcome orgy for some friggin' terrorist!!!

Oh yeah! The Scriptures say it is a place of eternal torment. It is a place where one goes and lives there for eternity. The Scriptures say it is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Can you imagine people will be there with satan himself, this is not a good person, he is pure 100% evil, and he will be their company along with his demons. This is a place that people choose with their own free will.

yes, but hell was not made for man, it was made for the fallen angels.

so the devil wants to take as many people as he can with him to suffer because of his anger towards God. The best way to get back at someone is to hurt the things they love most.
