I am a singer in a worship band at our church.
At first, when I was asked to sing, I was very self concious and didn't think I was good enough, however once I was over my stage fright, and realize that God had gifted me to be able to lead people to worship, I can sing with abandon.
I dont know that BECAUSE we sing it brings us closer to God, but certainly I believe He has gifted us to sing, and He loves to hear us sing, and therefore we should. I think that relationship with God in all things brings us closer to Him, prayer, studying His word, fellowshipping together, singing and all other forms of worship allow us to get to know Him better.

if you love God then you are on the right track read the book of psalms jesus said if you love me keep my commandments.you can be as close to God as you what to be serve him.

I believe that I am. But I also believe that I am close to God when I study his word, and when I spend my quiet time with him in prayer.

yes when i'am singing i feel the spirit moveing in me for many sing's have a special message that i'am singing to the heavenly father i feel only he know's my feeling and that by singing it draw;s me closer to him

No, It's what in your heart that counts. i've seen some of the most terrible people come out of a church including it's leaders, ministers!!!!!!!!!!!
