People of other belief systems make a big fuss about their right to wear something that defines the ideas they hold to be important, whether they are crosses, hijabs, turbans, yamekahs, or whatever. Would people of faith support my right to wear my spiritual ideology so ostentatiously?

It's really not the point that you don't mind either way whether I wear it - why should you? The point is that if I was to INSIST on expressing my views about God in this manner, would I get support and respect from people who insist on wearing apparel that defines their beliefs?

Mainly because like most countries, the very foundation is based on religion. If you don't fit into a religious sector, you will probably be ostracized. It's not fair, but it's true.

think of all the ugly looks you'll get; people will start to treat you funny; I wouldn't dare wear that kind of shirt, because I know people that will knuckle up with me for it. Sad isn't it?

I don't think you can with all certainty say that, because you don't have all the necessary empirical evidence.

Phrase "I am certain" only expresses your personal subjective opinion. It is same as saying "I feel like God does not exist", while next day you can say "Today I feel that God exists".

If you want to be as smart as you are trying to be, you'd probably go with some more objective statement such as "God does not exist". But then you'd still have hard time proving that.

I think most workplaces prohibit t-shirts with slogans on them. You might not like it if a Christian, Jew, Muslim, etc. wore a t-shirt expressing their faith. They "symbols" are a quieter method of expression that are rarely banned. You might do better, or be more equal, by creating a symbol of some sort for atheism (maybe there already is one?). That might be a better comparison.

I imagine that you work for a church. You could insist on wearing your attire but why do it if just to cause people to get upset? Wear what you want. No guarantee of popularity.

Depends on where you work. If you are going to dress in a manner that will hurt business or create an uncomfortable work environment for others it is not appropriate.

Duh! It's becouse of people like you that don't believe in the existence of God that we can't wear a shirt like that to work. You might 'get offended' if I wear one that says I DO believe!! Where is my freedom of speech and why if you see me wear one you can't just walk on and ignore it?! If I wear one like that I'm not forcing my beliefs on you like you whine about but am just declaring my own personal belief!

Well if you dont believe in God then you wouldnt care if it said that, If you are christian then your conscience will urge you to not wear that and actually even if u werent christian your conscience would still tell you unless it had already hardened.
