I have learned that many atheists are not selfish, immoral people. I would say most but then these problems are common in all people. I have learned that most Muslims truly believe and follow their faith.I have learned that many people consider Jehovah's witness's and Mormons not Christians although they consider themselves such, I make no judgments on this as it is not my place but God's. I have also learned that Pagans and Wiccans are peaceful and nature respecting peoples. The same of Buddhists, they are peaceful. I have also learned that many fellow Christians can and cannot accept us Catholics as Christians.

Yep, I've been surprised quite a bit! I have learned some neat things too, one of the things I learned is that I don't have to answer people who are being insulting, vulgar, or just plain rude, I just scroll down now and not to bother. I was answering them and I was angry at them, until a Christian set me straight about it. He or she (don't remember now) said how about we don't answer those any more? How about if we just answer the ones that are good questions? Well this was great for me! It sure is more fun now that I don't bother with those and get all twisted over them! lol I like this site, I like the support, but am always surprised too!

I did not know much about Pagans. Still learning. I did not know there were so many wonderful people, and so many horrible people. I didn't know there was a place called Trolldom or such thing as a WSIDR - who never seems to be able to make a decision without help.

I have realized that WOW! people can be hot headed stubborn and downright mean. I wish we could argue more sensibly, and agree to disagree. I am surprised how quick everyone is to attack each other, it's just opinions.
But things? Somebody said Mary was pregnant w/ Jesus at 12 ~ is that true?

I learned that there are more Christians out there that compassionate and loving than staunch elitists.
I am suprised by the he Lack of respect so many people have for others with differing views.

CAn I say as a Jew, I find a lot of good Christians who respect my beliefs without treading on them, and there are a lot of false Christians who are closed minded and unaccepting. Which is completely contrary to the teachings of their Jesus. But that is not exclusively a Christian failing. There are lots of people who just talk the talk, but dont walk the walk.

i'm not religious but um what i have learned here on yahoo is how judgemental christians are towards those who are not in the religion and um it makes me wonder why ? I think i read in the bible something about ..treating those around you the way you want to be treated and do unto others as you would have dont to yourselves and oh yeah something about not judging others because no one no matter how much they pray is without sin and therefore should not judge others for theirs..but who knew..

Debra M. This may be the wrong forum for you. You might consider the foreign service as a diplomat. However your input is very welcome.

Hello Hokie,
Nothing new ! Well, just that ignorance is more pervasive than I originally thought. I am saddened by the thought that people have so little comprehension of their own faith systems.
