What makes YOU Patriotic? For me it's "I will defend the Constituition of The United States of America, against ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic, so help me God".

I do agree that patriotic to me and my husband that served 22 years in the United States Airforce and was in the Vietnam War, that we will and do defend the Constitution of the United States.
We also agree on that all men were created equal, even if still at this time most people don't think the way we do.

Being patriotic is a deeper feeling that each of us holds within ourselves. We are proud to live in this great country. I'm not happy with the Bible being taken out of everything, but to those of us who truly know and understand what "Freedom of Religion" means, we need to stand for it and know the difference between good and evil. My husband is in the Navy and I support him and all the troops throughout the world. Saddam should have been removed from power YEARS ago, and because Bush had the guts to finally take some action, a few people want to whine and cry about it. What they DONT show through the media is HOW MUCH we have truly helped the Iraqi people. They dont show the people coming up and thanking the soldiers. DOES ANYONE NOT REMEMBER THE IRAQIS THROWING THEIR SHOES ON SADDAM'S PORTRAIT? Pray for the troops and give them support. They need and deserve it. GOD BLESS THE USA!

I am patriotic for the same reason as you and I am a Army wife so I am supporting my hubby during this hectic time in the military during deployments. He will be home in about 1 week!!!!!

That is not the definition of a patriot. That is merely an oath of office for most police officers/military, etc. Being a patriot is much deeper than that.

I am patriotic because I am intolerant-- bigoted, even-- when it comes to leaders who waste the lives of my fellow citizens, and abuse and squander the loyalty and good intentions of soldiers by sending them in harm's way for fraudulent reasons, and make huge personal profits off said war, and off the destabilization of oil producing nations of the world.
That's one sort of true patriotism, although I feel certain it won't cheer up this particular grim conclave of cheerleaders.

How are we defending the constitution in Iraq? We should be defending the constitution by impeaching politicians who defy it by breaking the law. Like DUBBYA.
