my 8mth old son is very active and has bumped his head onfurniture a few times. he has tiny bumps on his head and they haven't gone down. i put ice on his head as soon as i could and for as long as he'd let me. does anyone know a way to get them to go down now that it's been a while? or are these bumps going to be permanent?

i doubt they're permanent and there's really nothing you can do for these bumps...they'll go away on their own...try and ice it and if he won't let you then leave it be...children's bodies are amazing and heal everything very quickly...i don't know how long "awhile" is to you but he could have those bumps for two or three days or two or three weeks...

call me crazy, but i promise you this will work! get some vicks vapor rub or anything with menthol in it. rub it on a single bump. take a bandana and fold it up so that it is a triangle, then just keep folding it so that you have two corners, a thin strip. take a quarter and put it on the bandana, placing it over the bump. leave it on his head for as long as he wont complain (probably when hes sleeping), and check up on it every so often. it will definitely go down. good luck, let me know how it goes!

Ice wrapped in a soft cloth, for twenty minutes if he can stand it, but no longer than that. After twenty minutes you will get just the opposite effect. Repeat as often as he will tolerate it, leaving at least half an hour between treatments.

ice is a good way. It alleviates the pain at least and usually helps decrease the size of the bump. That hurts :-(
