Ring worm is a skin disease. It is a fungus infection appears on the body in ring shape, reddish in the colour and very itchy. This disease is quite common in hot countries and linked with bad perspiration and poor hygenic habits. Keep it clean by warm water and treat it with over the counter medication which contains SALICYLIC ACID 1% TO 3%. or go to your physician and get the correct diagnosis and treatment.

ring worm starts out looing like a little rash. It itches real bad. Then It starts to look like an actual ring, However, it is NOT really a worm! Its just a fungus. It will continue to grow ( in a ring shape) it will get larger and larger if not treated. It will torture you with itchieness!!!!!!!!!!!! Get some Hydracortizone cream. Or some cream that they sell for athletes foot. It works!!

i had a really mild case (think i caught it from my cat) but it started out as a rash that looked like a large spider bite maybe the size of a dime, grew to the size of quarter before i realized that it was ring worm. And no its not a worm (i was kind of freaked out when someone told me that i had ring worm) its just a fungus. The doctor told me to buy this twenty dolar cream, a friend told me to try clear nailpolish first. That took care of it.

The easiest way to tell is to get a UV light. It is fluorescent. I had a numer of spots on my legs arms and thighs. They were big as a silver dollar. The ring was reddish and bumpy. The center was hairless and white (all my freckles disappeared from the center). They were horribly itchy and scratching spread them. I was working with rabbits at the time and a few of us had them. The topical fungicide worked eventually. The trick is not to spread them by scratching.
