yes, drink warm drinks not cold. Try tea with honey, or water with lemon, these work pretty well! Feel better.

You know how before a band tunes up before a concert? The mix of different sounds is awful right? If you are getting it for the first time (and are between the ages of 14-20) your vioce is trying to change. Do not whisper, do not try to make the vioce, sound like the way you want it to (dont force your desired note). It will get worse. The causes of your hoarseness may be due to the environment you live in. I waited for a heavy rain to wash the dirt out of the air so my lungs and throat can breathe pariticle-free air and my hoarseness is gone. If you had hoarseness before and it came back, and if it lasted for more than 2 weeks, go to the doctor. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. Your vioce is not going to change immediately but you can speed up the healing process by not yelling or screaming. If there is anything else i can think of, ill post

1) If you smoke, quit
2)Avoid agents which dehydrate the body, such as alcohol and caffeine
3)Avoid secondhand smoke
4)Drink plenty of water
5) Humidify your home
6)Watch your diet - avoid spicy foods and alcohol
7)Try not to use your voice too long or too loudly
8) Seek professional voice training
9) Avoid speaking or singing when your voice is injured or hoarse (this is similar to not walking on a sprained ankle)

don't talk...don't even whisper..whispering strains your vocal cords more than talking or yelling...take some zinc tablets and vitamin C...you might be getting a cold...
