Does science today, the mighty theories of evolution, that we see evidence for in the DNA's of man and ape,
Does it eliminate our Judeo-Christian Biblical God of Genesis?
Will science in time explain of of creation, and eliminate a God of the Gaps that so many kneel and pray to?
What wonderful discoveries can we make as a human race, if we get off our little knees and put on the lab coat and get some research done.
How awful for those Druids had they not built stonehenge, and seen their calendar, and come to know their God, as it is, not God at all, but nature itself, beautiful.
Can I get a RAmen please?

Two points:
1. Stonehenge predated the arrival of the Celts, and their scholastic class the Druidi, by centuries. Though they doubtless used it, as did most other peoples who lived in that area, it was not a reflection of their beliefs, but the beliefs of the unknown original builders. Interestingly there is some astronomical evidence, suggestive no more, that when it was built Stonehenge was oriented toward the same star as was the very first Egyptian pyramid, allowing for stellar drift between the construction dates.
2. Both Judaism and Catholicism, along with many of the non-fundamentalist Protestant denominations, have said for years that Genesis should be taken metaphorically not literally. It's only the fundamentalist Christians and the Evolutionists who keep arguing for a literal interpretation. The fundies I can see, but why do the Evolutionists keep complaining about the use of a non-literal metaphor? Are you people so uncertain of your facts that even religious poetry poses a threat?

Sorry Charlie - Stonehenge was a part of the religion and also a part of the science of the time. The Druids were the go-betweens for the common people and the forces of nature which at that time as in this were believed to be directed by Deity.

NOTHING and I do mean nothing will ever eliminate God. Man has always been ignorant of something. At first it was the mountain, too far away to reach, it must be a God. Then a tree, too complex to explain, it must be a God and the list goes on and on and on.
And of course, there is always the guy you need and are willing to pay money to who sits on his posterior and thinks up ways to make misunderstood natural things into magic. Trust me, when science answers the last question, some guy in need of 10% will come up with a new one.

Perhaps they knew of the mystic Noddler after all Jim, they liked to party too!!! In the mist of time many things become obscure, the motivation of my Ancestors still seems clear to me; they need somewhere that didn't charge a cover; had all the necessary amenities; and put on a really good show for the family!!! So far we've come, but only a stones throw from the trees; it's our way!!!!

Whatever the Druids learned, they are keeping it a secret.
Maybe, no, science has so far only managed to prove that we don't really know anything, countless, no.

The recent re-dating of Stonehenge, based on carbon samples from buried collections of paper cups and fish-and-chips stained newsprint has caused a redefining of what its function was. Stonehenge was a fish and chips takeaway stand that just happened to be designed to take the best advantage of available natural light, the price of tallow lamps having been so high.
