1) tell her mom to send her to a rehab center or whatever there called.
2) im 5'6 and weigh 118, i dont like how i look and think i need to lose weigh but everybody around me says im fine. I would be happier if I was 110 .. i would say yes but thats my opinion, it depends on what you think of yourself
3) try and get them to talk about other thinks and get weigh issues off there mind.
4) no shes not fat ... (some girls say there fat so other people give them comliments*) tell her to get toned, start lifting weighs that will give her muscles.

I'm basing my opinion on medium body frame and young metabolism. 5'6" At 116 pounds is about right. 5'2 - 5'3" and 104 is also about right. However, if your friend has no muscle tone then she should consider consistent exercise (don't overdo it) with some moderate weights. You can be thin and still be out of shape.
As far as your friend that is 5'4" and 86 pounds, she is definitely underweight; possibly even anorexic. I would consider her to be 15- 20 pounds underweight.
It is very difficult to confront someone with anorexia, because what they see in the mirror is so different from reality. They always see themselves as fat. This self image is from lack of self esteem. They feel that no matter what they do it is not good enough. I have known some anorexics that believe that they don't even deserve to take up space in the world. Many also feel powerless and that they have no control over their lives. My the sake of her health, appearance and even life, she needs to be in counseling for these issues. She is lucky to have a concerned friend such as you. Keep on confronting her; try to get her family involved. Good luck.

1) first tell her that even tho she thinks that super skinny is like...gorgeous, thats not true. if you ask any guy, he'll probably say he doesnt like girls WAY to skinny. seriously. its not healthy and she'll just mess up her metabolism. and...a small in abercrombie kids for (im assuming) a teenager, is pretty disgusting. i mean, i wear abercrombie kids but a small??? no way....thats like a size 8 or w/e.
2) yeah youre like perfect. at your height you should actually be around 125, but w/e. as long as YOURE not anorexic, you're fine. im underweight too and it doesnt matter because i eat and everything.
3) same as 1.
4)your other friend is fine too. she should be around 110 actually. if she WANTS muscle, she'll tone and probably slim down, but she probably will gain a few pounds b/c muscle weighs more than fat.

It sounds like not only your friends are weight-obsessed, so are you. Why are you wasting so much time worrying about how much everyone weighs and who is fat or skinny? Get a hobby or something. Or join a gym and get a healthy amount of exercise so you can all improve your self-esteem and stop worrying about such petty issues. There are lots of different body sizes and types out there, stop comparing yourselves to each other!

1) you just have to come out and tell her how skinny she is, and tell her how scared you are for her.
-show her pictures and articles of anorexic celebrities (a la nicole richie)
-tell her parents (if they don't know already)
2) no you are definitely not fat. if you were like 132 and over, then yes you would be fat.
3) i really don't know
4) no she isn't fat. she's pretty normal.
good job, for not getting too sucked into this weight issue and for caring about your friends.
hope this helps!
email me with any more questions.
how old are you guys?

mostly they just distort their own body image. they see themselves as fat and so they think their normal sized friends are skinnier than them. Sometimes they see other anorexic people as too skinny but they can also look at them as how they want to look.

None of you are even remotely fat, but you are all in need of some professional counselling. You are all just encouraging each other to have this poor attitude towards weight and food and you are missing out because of it. Good luck : )
