People lose faith because society has become such a "Have to see to believe" people. What about the wind? You can't see that but you can definately feel it. I know in my heart that God is real and that Judgment is real.

You seem to be asking two questions at once - - - how it is possible to lose your faith, and what would happen if someone suddenly gained a faith.
It all depends on understanding and trust.
You cannot force your own trust - - - either you trust or you don't. You can pretend to trust for a while, but eventually the thing you are pretending to trust is going to let you down or even attack you. At that point, in order to go on living in any sane manner, you have to find something that you can trust.
It's easier to trust what you can understand than what you cannot understand. However, the simpler your view of existence, the more likely it is to be wrong.
The most basic constant is change, and change cannot be trusted.
Your question 'How can someone lose their faith?' is almost meaningless. The wonder is that so many people keep their faith in the face of constantly changing existence, whether that faith be Christian or Science.

You can say you have faith and act like you have faith ,but you have too truly be convinced in your mind. If you are not truly convinced you can easily change your mind .So obviously someone who changes all of a sudden already had some hidden doubts. If someone has true undeniable faith they will die for what they believe and it would be impossible to sway them. i know people that were raised catholic and have been catholics for most of their adult lives ,but left the catholic church and really have no true religion because they've always had hidden doubts ,but you wouldn't have ever known they had doubts before.
If you all of a sudden do believe, it could be God finally opening your eyes,or something happens in your life that God proves himself to you .You all of a sudden have no doubts and wonder why you had doubts in the first place.

1. Truth that stays in your head and never reaches your heart.
2. Revelation filtered by your brain never touching your spirit.
3. Many hear the call, few are chosen to respond.
Fair or not it is God's call and not ours. Some vessels of wrath and some of glory. Some are "after God's own heart" others find no love within themselves to return to God.
Some unlikely people all of a sudden do believe because a call goes out to every age and if they are elect they will respond.

I don't think that if someone really believed in God that they could stop believeing. For me, I don't believe in God, I know He exist. I was , and still am, one of those people who have to have proof of something to believe it. I've prayed before and some crazy things happened. I can get into them here but I didnt' "buy" the bible, but I prayed and someone who should have died, survived, stuff like that. If I told you everything that has happened to me and some unseen force stepped in and helped me, you'd probably think I was crazy or lieing, and I don't care. Like I said I KNOW God is real, I wasn't raised in church or anything like that. God showed me He is real. Nothing can prove to me that God is not real. Not my education, not no book, person or science. People talk about having faith, and for me having faith means trusting that God will do what He says. That he loves me, will never forsake me, no matter what I do, and wants the best for me and things like that. Sometimes I feel like I'll lose my salvation by keep sinning, which I still do. And there He is telling me I'm speical and I'm part of His family, and that He chose me because He knows my heart and understands what I do and why I do it. Once you know God is real, nothing can take that from you, nothing. I feel bad for people who say that they believe in God because they read about Him in the Bible or the preacher told them to. Iuse to read the bible and think that it was a flawed history book, written by really bad authors, no I read it and see that it is a book of spiritual princibles. I could never not believe in God.

very simple and easy for some people to drop all faith in God or whatever else they might believe in. people who usually do that have gone through hard times in their lives. or, they heard about someone else religion or beliefs and it made more sense to them. Also, somethin' just might have happened that proved that what they believed was false.

I grew up a Christian, and when grown could not accept G-d/Jesus thing. G-d is One. I converted to Judaism, and I am afraid-after 30 some years-I still can get very antagonistic toward Christians because of how they (my family particularly) treated me over this. To each his own----------.

I'd say it's a matter of perspective. New perspective, new faith or ditching the old one.
