Why should Christians answer to questions asked by non-believers when the only motive of the question being asked is obviously to ridicule and mock Christians?
I've seen people not respond to questions and then be called "scared" for lack of knowledge for not having responded, I believe this is crap. Why ask a question if you aren't at all interested in the answer?
How can God be called cruel by those who don't believe in Him (and thus, don't truely know His character), when so many non-believers spend so much of their time ridiculing and persecuting Christians?

Bethe - I fail to understand why someone trying to stimulate his or her own mind by asking questions would simply ask in such a mocking tone as the questions I am referring to.
TTC - Good answer. I didn't mean to say that I would stop answering questions intended to mock me. I needn't defend myself, and I do hope that I can keep my responses calm and in a loving manner. Jesus did, after all, respond to the Devil with scripture when the Devil was merely testing him.

Well....................you don't have to. You can only answer christian questions. All I can say is I use to mock among the mockest mockers around. Somehow all that calm response from christians one day started to sink in. Once I started to think about it being possible is when I was the worse to believers.......I'm so gald they didn't give up.
P.S. I sent many of them home crying...I was terrible

I just overlook the questions that are there just to mock or ridicule. Just remember what 2 Peter 3:3,4 says; For you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according their own desires and saying: "Where is this promised presence of his?" Their time is short now just like Satan's, not much longer and they will be no more.

Question everything. Maybe the questioner is trying to stimulate his/her own brain, or playing the devil's advocate to find acceptance with his/her own faith. Maybe the questioner is trying to stimulate you into thinking. It is quite possible that one day, some of these Y/A questioners will be nominated for sainthood for spending their every waking minute provoking the true believers into unwavering faith...

I am Moslem and I suggest that questions clearlly intended as attempts at ridicule be ignored. A question is supposed to call for answers, otherwise it ceases to be a question.

Many of the questions I don't bother to answer. They're not intended to be serious. Why waste time trying to answer when an answer isn't wanted?

Who or what do you think we need to protect here . God doesn't need me to defend him , so when I don't answer It's for a reason , let them think or say what they will !

its not really serious with us, its just that you take it so serious, which makes you an easy target for ridicule. Without you guys here we would be bored stiff, and probably make somebody else miserable.

I agree with you in part, however, we should answer them even if they come off as being scornful. We would want them to answer us, so we answer them.
