I think I have either pink eye or I scratched my cornea while I was sleeping, because my left eye is red and painful, but not really goopy like pink eye tends to be. I don't want to spend the $25 co-pay to go to my doctor, and my husband thinks I can squeeze some neosporin in there without any problem. Has anyone done this? I am also washing it out with saline every few hours.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!! Neosporin is for topical use there is no indication of safety for opthomological useage if you want to try something safe you can use colloidal silver available from your local healtth food store it is a very broad spectrum all natural antibiotic and safe Gorbalizer

RE: Should I put neosporin in my eye for pink eye? A friend told me I can use neosporin to treat my pink eye. She said to clean the cap really well and using a Q-tip put a little in the inner corners of my eyes right before bed. It should clear up by the morning. I've never heard of this before is it safe to put it in my eyes?

No. See where it says "for external use only"? Eyes count as internal. It will sting like a b**** and might harm the eye. If you have pink eye, you can infect a ton of other people. $25 is a small price to pay for not causing a pink eye outbreak in your town.

I Agree with REDNIKA07 (hoped i spelled that right) a pharmacist would be the next best step the guy who tells you to go to an organic store MAn youre still in med school and by law can get fined for disclosing health information without proper licience

I wouldn't either. I've scratched my eye before just by getting stuff in it. The thing that sucks is it takes time to heal, which means its tough to sleep or do anything. Just try not think about it :- /
