yes; you can be good to some, but bad to others. If you are like this, then does that mean you are good or evil? Bottom line, you can be considered evil by some, and good by some. That's how you can be both good and evil.

Yes.
Humans are continually in a state of dynamic balance, striving to attain things that are contradictory. Given the right stimulus, a human who does good most of the time, can do evil at any moment. There's nothing that any human can ever go thru while alive that will make him or her 'permanently good' or 'permanently evil' thereafter.
And that's a good thing....because thruout history, good things happen mostly when people rebel against evil things that are going on. The Magna Carta would never have been written if Prince John hadn't been taxing the nobles of England beyond all reason in order to attack France. And he wouldn't have been doing that if his elder brother, Richard the Lion-Hearted, who had no interest in ruling but wanted to keep the advantages of being a king while he cruised around the world being a playboy-crusader, had not told Prince John 'Any territories that you conquer while I am gone, you will keep and be king of when I return'.
If the Magna Carta had not been written, it's unlikely that the Constitution or Bill of Rights would even have been thought of.
So, evil causes good, and good causes good, and good causes evil.
Would Israel be the powerful nation that it is now if there had never been a Holocaust?

That really depends on your view. My religion's view is that everyone is given the ability to view both the good and the evil in every situation. If you will, that we are all "neutral" and that we have the FREEWILL to decide. Naturally, we have to overcome our selfish egotistical side and not choose the evil, but choose the selfless and charitable side and do the good. Of course, there is also the belief that if you are dead then you will be no help to anyone anyhow. I guess everything is a tossup.

Does it occur to you that perhaps no one is either good or evil? We love to be able to describe a person as something separate from their behavior. Rather, there are people who behave in insensitive, deceitful, or sadistic ways. But you cannot cite a case in which these same people have not also shown some awareness of others, told some truth, or shown some mercy.

Yes. I think we're all an uneven mix of good and evil. Some are more good than evil, but no one is completely good or completely evil.

Every human is good and evil and will always be good and evil. People who you think are good have a bad side and people you think are bad have a good side. There must a a combination of positive and negative for humans to survive. There is no such thing as pure evil or good.

You can only be one or the other. Being good is not a part time or seasonal thing.
