In light of their famous fizzle, and the fact that China and Russia signed off on the sanctions, we might see them take a sabbatical and lick their wounds. N.Korea lost a lot of face in the last week or so, this is the worst thing in the whole world that can happen to N.Korea. And, the fact is, they did it to themselves. They and their strategy fell right on it's face.
To think we will see a conciliatory N.Korea, is a stretch. We may see or hear nothing from them for a while. Hell, we could possibly see a coup over the shame Kim Jong Il has brought on his country.
On the other hand, we could see a more bellicose reaction. Like, a good offense is a good defense. We could see more scheduling of rocket testing, although I doubt that, for now. We will more than likely hear that sanctions are a declaration of war. Frankly, I don't see that happening.

They will complain a lot and see how bad they actually hurt. North Korea can always smuggle. And China is saying it is not going to enforce them (China could have vetoed, now they look real stupid or indecisive). Food & fuel are not banned, so North Korea will still not collapse. Whatever really happened with the test, Kim Jong Il could still think it was a success. I don't think they will use nuclear weapons first, but they will think they have a deterrent and can safely do conventional things. So I think we will see them do nothing for a while, probably shoot at any blockading ships or spy planes that get too close or do anything too annoying, and if there are no direct negotiations, eventually set off another test. Maybe on the last day Bush is president.

Like it always has, with defiance and rhetoric. It knows the UN is almost useless in enforcing its own resolutions. Ironically, the high point for the UN security council was 1950 when it took action in Korea, although this was mostly to the United States, for all intents and purposes, "being" the UN and the fact the China obstained and the USSR had walked out.

I myself have no idea, but I'm sure that bad hair little weasel running the place will make sure he's well fed and taken care of while his people go hungry. "Great Leader"! I wish we could get him here during hunting reason, give him a nice fur coat and a hat with a big set of antlers, and tell him to go for a nice long walk in the woods. Can you just imagine him on the hood of someones truck?

Santions too light, they won't panic. Business as usual. They will smuggle the materials and equipment anyways from China and Russia into the country. Other than those and luxury goods, its business as usual.
When the sanctions extend to essential goods then we could be smelling trouble from N.Koreans.

because those different international locations are not likely round threatening to apply their nukes on others or to furnish nukes to terrorists. notwithstanding the reality is that the UN received't do something to end rogue international locations like Iran & N. Korea, because the UN is flow for no longer something adversarial to rogue international locations.

They're gonna ivade South Korea, or at least try to. I'm just hoping that Bush is wise enough not to invade and let Japan and S.Korea finish them off, if this is what it comes down to.
