On the stove..
start by putting COLD water into a pan
Carefully place the eggs in the pan (single layer)
Bring the water to a boil & then allow to boil 5 - 7 minutes
Take the pan to the sink & run COLD water into the pan, dump the water then add more cold water & let the eggs sit in the water until they are cool. If you plan to use them immediately, then leave them in cold water until they are cold. Replacing the water as it warms up with more cold water. Eggs peel best when they are COMPLETELY cool or even cold from sitting in the fridge.
As for peeling, I prefer to use eggs that are NOT fresh. The shells come off much cleaner without taking chunks out of the eggs. I like them to be at least on week old for boiling & peeling....
Hold the egg loosely in your hand horizontally. TAP it on the counter to crack the shell then GENTLY roll the egg to crack the shell all the way around. CAREFULLY peel the shell away, rinsing it in cold water to remove all shell fragments, dry with towel or paper towel.
The reason I like week old eggs is because the membrane on the egg should come off with the shell & most of the time, with fresh eggs, the membrane sticks to the egg & the shell only comes off. When you try to remove the membrane from the egg generally you get chunks of egg with the membrane. If you are stuffing the eggs, this makes them unattractive. If you plan to chop the eggs up then this is not as big of a deal, except it makes them more difficult to peel. With the older eggs, the shell & membrane simply peel away......
If you like, you can add a touch of distilled vinegar to the water before boiling the eggs. This will keep the eggs from spreading if one should break during the cooking process. As for the amount of vinegar, a tablespoon should do the trick......

As far as I know you can't boil an egg in a microwave.
I've tried and had a mucky mess! Someone told me you can poke holes in the eggs. I tried got a bigger mess. I have noticed there is something at TaylorsGifts.com that they claim you can boil eggs in it. in a microwave but $9.99 just for something to boil eggs in a microwave not worth it to me! I sometimes boil eggs in a toaster oven but that's only when I have all my stove elements in use! Best way to boil eggs is in a pot on a stove element. If you don't have one in your place you can get a hot plate cheap at a thrift store or other 2nd shop! How I boil eggs.. I bring the water to boil.. drop the eggs in. turn off element cover then have a cup of coffee and then go back to the eggs and they are perfectly cooked. The hot water is cooking the eggs that way and they don't get burned!
Oh if you want the eggs easy to peel salt the water before you put the eggs in it!

I am an expert on boiling eggs because I do it so often for my family members, who love deviled eggs!
Place the eggs you wish to boil in a pot and cover with water. Place on the stove over high heat until it starts to boil. When it starts to boil, turn the heat down until the water simmers. From that point, simmer for exactly 7 minutes. Remove from the stove, drain and run cool water over the eggs. Let them sit at room temperature for a while before putting them back into the 'fridge with shells on or peeling the shells off.
As for peeling, eggs that are brand-spankin' fresh will be much harder to peel than eggs you have had for a week or two. Older eggs peel better.
When peeling, lightly crush and roll the egg on a hard surface (kitchen counter) and then peel while holding the egg under running cool water. Start from one of the ends of the eggs, where the air pocket is. Make sure you get ahold of the inner peel of the egg so the entire shell comes off easily.

Boil an egg in a pot of water for 15 minutes. Remove it from the pot and let it sit in cold water. It's done depending on if you want a hard boiled or soft boiled egg. Give it a tap against the edge of a bowl and it should be easy to peel. Don't eat the shell.

To properly hard boil an egg -
Put it in a saucepan. Cover it with cold water. Bring water to a boil on the stove top. AFTER the water has come to a boil, time 3 minutes. Take it off the stove. Add slightly cooler water (Not cold) over your boiled water and egg. Retrieve your egg and put it on the counter lightly crushing the shell as you roll the egg under your palm to remove the shell. Eat!

For soft-boiled eggs, put some water in a saucepan. Bring water to a boil on a stovetop, NOT microwave. Boil eggs for 5 minutes. (More or less, depending how you like your eggs.)
Remove saucepan from heat, pour the hot water in the sink, fill saucepan with cold water. Remove the eggs. Tap them against the sink or countertop to break the shell. Peel off the shells. Put in a bowl, chop it up with a spoon. Enjoy.

annoying Boiled Eggs: Use eggs that have been on your refrigerator a minimum of one million week. start up with chilly water. upload salt to the water. Boil etc... Do noto drian yet relatively placed the pot decrease than chilly water and run chilly water over the the pot untiel extraordinarily lots each and all of the nice and comfy is long gone. upload ice. while they're cool-room temp or so. placed them interior the refrigerator. Wait until eventually they're good and chilly. in case you peel them to quickly the white will nevertheless be comfortable and stick to the shell. This feels like an excellent style of steps in spite of the indisputable fact that this is not any longer. I only broke it down. Deviled eggs are rather ordinary and that i'm undecided why this style of high-quality style of folk want to complicate a standard dish/area. only decrease the eggs in one million/2 lengthwise, scoop out the yolk right into a seperate bowl, no might desire to cover the white with a towels, making the filling is quite rapid and ordinary. Mash the yolks with a touch mayo, mustard, salt and pepper. Spoon or pip the yolk filling decrease back into the eggs. you want to pipe it the combination should be extraordinarily smoth or this is going to clog. Sprinkle with a touch paprika for colour, and WALA super basic and engaging deviled eggs.

Place enough eggs in a saucepan to keep them from rolling around. Cover with water, bring to boil. Turn off heat, cover with lid and let them sit 17 minutes. Remove from pan and do whatever you want. Tap and roll is the easiest way to peel. Perfect every time.
