Sounds to me as though you're stirring your Pot Noodles for too long.

I've tried recipes and realised the person who wrote the cookbook can't ever have cooked this, they must have just copied it from somewhere.
Like a cake that had 1 oz of flour in, I thought it was a bit odd. It came out runny. Later I worked it out at 6 oz.

I tried to do fudge once. I did exactly what the recipe said. Added all the right ingredients at the right time and lo and behold I had to throw the pan out because I couldn't get the result out. I did pick some of it off before I threw it and was so dissappointed I wasn't too bothered I had to chuck it.

Oh yes!!!! I tried making an Osso Bucco recipe from Emeril Lagasse and it sucked. My family wouldnt eat it and neither would I. We went out for Chinese that night. The recipe called for dried cranberries in it which made it sweet instead of savory. I made it again without the sweet berries and it was good. I also try to do cakes and they always end up in the garbage.

yes and on other occasions I have chucked a few ingredients into a pan without thinking and got a really tasty meal. Things usually go wrong when cooking a special meal to impress someone.

Occasionally when I make Salsa Verde, it doesnt come out right.

Maybe I should write down my recipe, although I always like to blame it on the grower of the tomatillos if it comes out bad.Pisses me off when that happens.

I haven’t actually, but my poor sister has…several times, while trying to ‘liven-up’ her meals. Unfortunately, after slaving over her stove (or oven) all day, not only did her family not like it, she didn’t either…in fact the dog wouldn’t even eat a couple of her dishes. They go out to eat lots! LOL ;)

~~Sponge cake ~~
I tried 3 times following the recipes but still it didn't work! So I stick to bake cheese cakes, pround cakes and chocolate cakes, easier and they are good.
