Have you had your child's hearing checked?

Play the whisper game to test their hearing. Stand behind them and whisper to them, have them tell you what they heard each time you say something. If that checks out ok, then it becomes a discipline issue. My granddaughter gets loud trying to drown everyone out shouting. I just tell her to use her ' indoor voice' so I can hear her. Grandma can't hear you if your too loud. Then I have her repeat herself in a softer voice and I answer her.Try it!

If there are people around him that always shout he could be shouting, because he thinks it is normal. He could have a hearing problem. Try talking to him in a normal tone of voice and explain to him that is how quite he/she is supposed to talk.

#1 have their hearing tested
#2 if their is no hear problem then you need to see that the child is only doing what he or she knows -in other words the shouting is coming from somewhere!!!!!

He had to learn the shouting from somewhere - either you or your husband must shout at him, or each other, so he knows that's how to get attention - negatively.
