I have been feeding my 3 year old cat, Chipmunk with Whiskas (wet and dry). Chipmunk won't eat any wet BEEF or MEAT Whiskas pouches. He only eat seafood, salmon, tuna, and wildfish and Chicken. It applies to my other friends' cats as well.

Right now I'm trying to change Chipmunk's food because it has By-Products which is part brain, bones, legs and feet in the food. I am now slowly switching him to Nutra Max food which don't have any by-products and it is rich in vitamins and proteins. Don't be fool with the prices because to me, a small bag of Nutra Max, it lasts me 2 months instead of one on Whiskas. and the amount of dollars breaks down to equal. Chipmunk's hair and skin is now very beautiful and he got more energy now.

Just another options for you to experiment. If you decide to experiment, try to mix his dry food for a few months before settle on a good brand (forever). I also use both dry and wet from both Whiskas and Nutra Max, he seems to like Nutra Max more. Can't wait for another month before i settle on Nutra Max for good.

Good luck hope it helps.

There is nothing "best" about any Whiskas product. The meat in it is by-product meat considered unfit for human consumption. Not only is the meat inferior and by law it has too be "rendered" meaning it has been sprayed with chemicals, some of them known carcinogens. The meats come from animals that have been fed hormones and antibiotics -- not good for you or for a pet.

The small pet food manufacturers use premium meats in their foods. They do not put their money into advertising, they put it into their food. I can almost guarantee that your cat will like Natural Balance canned foods. Of course I know that cat's hate any change in diet and you may have to use it until he is hungry enough to try it. It is not good to use the same food all the time with a cat. They need variety in their food and if you let them get away with turning their noses up at things you are the one that is creating the finicky cat.

I have been finding Natural Balance at my local pet discount store so you don't necessarily have to feed the most expensive food.

The ads for pet food are meant to stimulate pleasure in the pet's owner so you'll think it is the best. All cats are individuals and just like people they have different taste.

Our cat won't touch Whiskas, he'd rather go hungry. He only likes the brand of cat food he's eaten all his life and occasional treats like a little raw fish and chicken pieces.

The best is what they will eat.
Our cat would never touch Whiskas but he will eat the Sardine and chiken flavours of Oh so meaty and oh so fishy.

Give it another month and he may have changed his mind

'Cos cats can be very fussy feeders, one of my cats would eat most things, from the cheapest IE.Tesco value (I bought this just to try them on it) To really expensive stuff but my other cat.......well that was a whole different story, she would eat a pouch of really good cat food for one meal but don't even think of giving her the same the next meal, oh no! I had to have a cupboard full of different types so that she had a choice!! and no I am not USUALLY one of these people who pander to their animals wishes and let them rule the roost entirely but I was fighting a losing battle with this cat, right up until she died at the ripe old age of 22years old I was well and truly under her paw!! and in her last few months she wasn't eating much at each sitting so I was feeding her around 5/6 times each day!!!! Bless her!

What jumps out at me is that you say that this food has suddenly caused your cat to vomit AND another random person on the internet, one of the other answerers, says the same. Too much of a coincidence to consider feeding this food safe. I think you should notify the manufacturer. In answer to you q, no, I don't feed that food because it is a lower quality one. Read the links already given and choose some other brands for you cat. A few I'd recommend: Wellness, Merrick's, Blue Buffalo Wilderness.

Try him on his usual cat food, as cats just get used to a certain variety of cat food. Like my little one loves chicken Whiskas.

Try a different variety of foods. Not every cat likes whiskas. I know my cat doesn't. My cat likes Meow Mix. Keep trying untill he likes it. Hope this helps!

what we think is the best prob isnt to them. i used to buy whiskas supermeat cos whiskas is a good name and i thought it was the best quality 4 my cats but they went off it,its quite stringy and fatty, so i got them the cheaper Go-cat supermeat and they love it,the texture is better. they will prob change their minds again soon cos they are 2 fussy. try supermarkets own brands, its cheap but sometimes they prefer it,or mine like Felix-As good as it looks.
