that woman thinks too highly of herself, just b/c she has alot of money. I am not Catholic, but I don't think she deserves to be the saint of anthing, unless it's snobbery.

Saints are people in heaven or on their way to heaven. All Christians dead and alive are saints.
The Catholic Church selects some of the most extraordinary examples, does in-depth research, and canonizes them.
"By canonizing some of the faithful, i.e., by solemnly proclaiming that they practiced heroic virtue and lived in fidelity to God's grace, the Church recognizes the power of the Spirit of holiness within her and sustains the hope of believers by proposing the saints to them as models and intercessors."
Oprah Winfrey can be a saint just like any believer including you and me. However the Catholic Church probably will not canonize her.
With love in Christ.

Saints are about Catholic Church rules. Why would anyone not a Catholic be interested in such an honor?

A saint is someone who is holy. To be holy you need to be a child of God. So once someone is a child of God (reborn of the spirit) having connection to God 24/7 that someone is a Saint. Catholics like to name people Saints. It is really every born again Christian is a Saint.
Is Oprah a born again Christian? Has she confessed Jesus Christ her Lord? It doesn't really matter what the Catholic leadersip thinks. What matters is what does Jesus Christ think.
The Catholic Church only names people of their catholic faith Saints.
Oprah is a very generous & caring person.

sure - most saints didn't actually consider themselves "catholic" they were simply followers of Christ.
now the question should be: can she? not unless she has been the direct recipient of or performed herself three super-natural miracles. Oprah would even find that hard.
