As above. Fly to Heathrow ( Ryan air, Lst minute etc).
And check out flights from there to Hong Kong.
Try:
Qantas
China Air (really good)
Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways.
Vietnam Airlines (All new planes) are really great too, except you can't book online with them. You will get really great deals if you just look around on the web for a few weeks.

I would say, cost-wise, to fly from Glasgow to London Heathrow on Ryanair to keep the cost down for such a short flight. Heathrow to Kong Kong, if u want the most direct route, try Virgin or Cathay Pacific Airlines.
