What does this saying derive from????????? is it a good saying or a sad saying? Mental.. I'm sure.. but what does it mean..

It means they really sympathize with you, when sometime tragic happens to someone.
They are in effect saying, that they feel as you do, deeply, and sadly about your loss.

A "bleeding heart" is someone crippled into inaction by emotion. I have a friend that ran over a dog accidentally, crushing it's spin and pelvis. The dog was not long for the world and it was the middle of the night. My friend could not bring himself to shoot this dog and end it's misery so he came and got me in the middle of the night to do it. I would have rather shot him for that one. He let that dog suffer longer just so he didn't have to bear the emotional burden. What a dick. That in a nutshell is what bleeding hearts do in every circumstance.

Its sarcastic, like if you don't want to do something and someone doesn't care they'll say it. At least thats my interpretation of it.
