Depending on how you want them cooked will vary what temperatures and times to cook them for. Size and weight need to play a part as well. In general, if you're talking about cooking a complete strip lion: I would suggest a Low heat - 140-160 over a course of approximately 4-6 hours for well done If (More recommended) you prefer your meat a nice color of red in the middle, i'd put your oven up to about 190-220 for 2 hours. Again it depends on your oven, whether or not it is fan forced or conventional, how you like your meat cooked, and mainly their size and weight. If you bought your meat already cut into steaks at the butcher, then you'd be better off cooking them in a frying pan with absolutely minimal oil. If you like your steak well done you can cook them on a low heat for 6-8 minutes on each side, For a medium-rare steak cook it on a high heat for 3 minutes on a each side. If your steaks are quite thick it can always help to have your oven on about 210, and stick them in there for 5 or so minutes just to finish off the cooking process. Keep in mind, you should always rest your steaks at room temperature after cooking for at least 5 minutes before serving, this gives the blood a chance to settle. Whats going to come out will, and whats left inside wont drip all over the plate when you cut into it. PS - The finger trick goes like this open your hand, using your other hand press against the flesh below your thumb - Thats how meat feels when its rare Press your Index finger and thumb together - Thats how meat feels when its Med-rare Thumb and Middle - Med Thumb and Ring - Med-Well Thumb and Pinkie - Well

you can sear it in the oven - about 2 min on each side directly under the broil coils, then turn the oven down to 350 and lower the pan (use a broiling pan), and bake the steak for about 7 - 10 min on each side for med-med.
That's if the steak is about 1 " thick. If thinner, then less time per side.
enjoy.

move your oven rack down about 2/3 of the way down and cook it under the broiler ...cook until it feels about like the the texture of your chin....you will have to turn it once when its getting brown use your broiler pan that came with the oven...it is easy to watch as you can crack door and watch it should stay in place i would say it will take about 31/2 minutes per side...and it will still have natural juices and still be tender and not tough unless the steak was already tough and you said you marinated sio that should be resolved.....
