Here's how the story goes (it is a conceptual story):
A person dies and goes to hell. He has to toil and finish all his tasks - which he completes. Before he leaves, the devil has a final task for him. The devil gives him a hammer and nail and asks him nail a person shut into a torture chamber. The person can only leave after that, he is told. But the person refuses. The devil says he cannot leave. The person says that he would rather stay in hell rather than condemn someone to torture.

The devil is replaced by an angel who welcomes him with open arms to heaven. This is the person's final test. But the people in hell cannot see this. The devil hands the nail and hammer to the next person and line, and says that the previous guy could not finish his task - now it's your turn.

Now, before the good person leaves hell, he is granted one wish - what would he ask with his one wish? (I know the answer, but you tell me what you think it is.)

Reminds me of the story of the three women who were trying to get in to the CIA. As a final test of their loyalty, they are told to go in to a room, and shoot the person they find.

The first goes in, and comes straight out again. She says "Sorry, that was my husband,I just couldn't do that, not even for my country", and leaves.

The second goes in, and comes straight out again. She says "Sorry, that was my husband,I just couldn't do that, not even for my country", and leaves.

The third goes in. There is silence, then banging and crashing and screaming. She comes out and says " Sorry for the delay, the dammed gun wouldn't work, I had to use the table leg"

Sounds scary. Never heard of it. There's no task to get to heaven, but there is a task in letting God into your life.
