Limbo is a hypothesis so it can easily be done away with. It was never stated in any religious text or by God himself, it was man made. God on the other hand has been witnessed by many people through prophets, miracles and many other marvellous deeds. What is amazing though is how much time atheists spend talking about a figure which they believe doesnt exist. Thats like me talking about santa clause all the time. Or maybe they just wanna disprove him so badly so as to feel better for their sinful lives.

No.

+ God +

God is dogma, a belief that cannot be changed, and not a hypothesis.

Don't worry. God is safe from the Pope. ;)

+ Limbo +

Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)

Jesus either did not explain all possible situations or the Gospel writers did not record them. For centuries, people have wondered about children who died before they were baptized.

Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has be rejected.

The Church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.

With love in Christ.

God would not provide us unfastened will. If ingredient are already destined to take place, case in point predictions of doom interior the destiny in accordance the bible.. the place is the unfastened will? there is none,.. additionally what with regard to the mentally sick? What does god say approximately that? technological know-how has shown that without healthy functioning ideas, one isn't in a position to make sparkling and sense of right and incorrect judgements? on condition that God knows all and created all, he knows of those human beings born with the psychological stressful circumstances to think of for themselves. faith is an extremely clever thank you to regulate the a lot of human beings, faith is man made. The very people who wrote the bible don't have self assurance their very own lies.

I've never understood the Catholic church in that regard - special dispensations, the selling of indulgences, the whole meat during Lent thing... From a Christian perspective, I agree it's a strange brew, and it makes anyone with faith look even worse off in the eyes of a non-believer - Lord knows you think little of me as it is. But that's cool. I don't believe in Limbo, and I don't think I have to go around beating people with my Bible, either. Think what you want of me, but I'm not doing away with God. Feel free, though. It's (sort of) a free country.

Limbo has never been part of cannonized scripture. Protestants have never bought into limbo - scripture clearly teaches contrary. It's great the RC chuch is teaching more about what's actually scriptural as opposed to what "man" (pope) says. God bless you. ~Nise~

this is a stupid question. if you were catholic you would know that God is actually not hypothetical. the teachings of the church are based on centuries of philosophical inquiry held up to the written word of the prophets; once in a while something is found to be in error. the Pope, although himself a lifelong theologian and scholar, develops the revisions with the help of multiple church theologians.

of course, i dont really know why non-catholics are concerned with any of this.
