In the old days they had floods and women being turned into salt. Today we have to make do with weeping statues or faces appearing on toast.

Not very inspiring, is it?

There are fewer and lesser miracles nowadays because most people don't have enough faith.
But there still are miracles (and I don't mean the dull ones):

You can not see today women turning into salt or a sea being devided like what Moses did because God has a purpose for those at that time, and to everytime He manifest His power to His people. God wants people to believe in Him and to His messenger (Moses). Same thing as what Jesus and the apostles did. Today where almost everybody believe in the God (though not everybody believe or know who the True God is). And to the woman who turned to salt is just God's way of showing justice and that what He say He will do it. What will guarantee salvation for men today is no longer solely on miracles but by believing onto His words, with or without miracles. The fact that you are still breathing and posting stuff in this website is already amazing thing. Everyday that you see the sun rises is enough insparation. Do you still need more than that to prove your belief and trust in God?

It's because miracles aren't reality. Exaggeration is to blame: a few hundred years ago (or even thousands), people had no TV, no radio and no internet. How did they entertain themselves? Basically, they have two choices: music or stories. It would be no fun to tell a story of the day when the river was one centimetre higher; a story of a flood that killed all but a few lucky people and creatures is a good story. These days, people wouldn't believe stories like that, and people don't bother making up these stories anyway.

An awful lot of 'artistic licence' took place in the relating of the miracles of old.

The world is filled with modern-day miracles.

Witness the miracle cures taking place in South America, Spain, Eastern Europe and many other places worldwide.

If you were to ask people to send you information on miracles they personally witnessed, you might perhaps be able to produce a best seller.

Savstammerer,
The miracle today is right under many peoples nose. It's scriptural interpretation. Those that do not believe sick at it. Those that believe are gifted with the understanding, the traditions get in the way though. The tares with the wheat.

Inspiring happens around us all the time.
The world has become so fast paced now a days we really don't pay attention to things that happen around us. I have seen some incredible things in my 24 years on this earth.
I do believe that there are miraculous things that occur today, but I think we move so fast that we really don't pay attention.
Peace...

Those who claim modern day miracles are frauds.

They are making financial merchandise out of good people's hearts!

I would love an opportunity to confront them on national television in a debate.

Miracles are still here.
They are manifested thru different means.
God no longer needs the glory of signs-wonders and open face miracles to make his presence known.
He left detailed instructions thru his Son's ministry.
We now have the living word and it comes alive.
The truth is manifest in God's word.

Amen.

When you see a miracle--and come to understand what it is, which is generally a quiet, private thing--then you will may feel humbled and repentant at your efforts to belittle and undermine a God so vastly powerful that your conception of such might pales and trembles in front of it.
