I am hosting a charity event for our local food pantry. I am having local bands play and we will be selling concessions, holding door prizes, raffles, etc. throughout the night. I want to have businesses sponsor me, but what is the best way to collect money & checks and let my sponsors know that I am following though with the event, not just taking their money? How do I let them know they can trust me? (I'm in high school)

my dad is on the city council and no permits are needed. I just need to know how I can earn the business's trust that the money really is going to an organization, not just my pocket.

Call your local Police Department, their Community Liason Officer should be able to give you the info you need, you need to talk to the city anyway about a permit
