(I know...not a question). I get these answers all the time and I just want you to know that I recognize that the person is genuinely trying to help and is probably a very good person. Answers like these just push people like me away:

"So if you love God, you have to love all his make. Humans, whatever they are, are His make and you have to love them. If you hate them, they Willl not be injured or hurt but you will be."

Seriously, I know people are tying to help lost people like me, but quoting scriptures and leaving strange biblical babble only freaks people like me out.

I am Episcopal...I am lost...I need a different approach or I will never come back. Right now, I don't care if I go to hell. You may not care...maybe those answers are designed to piss me off...if so, go for it. If not...If you really want to help me and others like me. Please, please, please...do not quote Mathew, Luke, or any other scripture. Talk to me in a language I will understand. Please?

The reasonfor this is I could feel myself becoming hateful yesterday. I got off of Yahoo! Answers in a rage...read my questions... Seriously, I know you are faithful...I know you believe what you say and you are tying your best to help. I promise you it doesn't matter what you are tying to prove. If you want to reach people, talk in a language they will understand.

Quoting the chemical make-up of a bottle of oven cleaner will not help most people decide what brand to buy...you need to tell them things they understand...things that they will understand... OK? This doesn't just work in religion. It works for everything...

I feel something compelling me to cut and paste "The Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts"

All hail the "flying spaghetti monster"…

The Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts"

1. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Act Like a Sanctimonious Holier-Than-Thou *** When Describing My Noodly Goodness. If Some People Don't Believe In Me, That's Okay. Really, I'm Not That Vain. Besides, This Isn't About Them So Don't Change The Subject.

2. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Use My Existence As A Means To Oppress, Subjugate, Punish, Eviscerate, And/Or, You Know, Be Mean To Others. I Don't Require Sacrifices, And Purity Is For Drinking Water, Not People.

3. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Judge People For The Way They Look, Or How They Dress, Or The Way They Talk, Or, Well, Just Play Nice, Okay? Oh, And Get This In Your Thick Heads: Woman = Person. Man = Person. Samey - Samey. One Is Not Better Than The Other, Unless We're Talking About Fashion And I'm Sorry, But I Gave That To Women And Some Guys Who Know The Difference Between Teal and Fuchsia.

4. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Indulge In Conduct That Offends Yourself, Or Your Willing, Consenting Partner Of Legal Age AND Mental Maturity. As For Anyone Who Might Object, I Think The Expression Is Go **** Yourself, Unless They Find That Offensive In Which Case They Can Turn Off the TV For Once And Go For A Walk For A Change.

5. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Challenge The Bigoted, Misogynist, Hateful Ideas Of Others On An Empty Stomach. Eat, Then Go After The B*******.

6. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Build Multimillion-Dollar Churches/Temples/Mosques/Shrin... To My Noodly Goodness When The Money Could Be Better Spent (Take Your Pick):
A. Ending Poverty
B. Curing Diseases
C. Living In Peace, Loving With Passion, And Lowering The Cost Of Cable
I Might be a Complex-Carbohydrate Omniscient Being, But I Enjoy The Simple Things In Life. I Ought To Know. I AM the Creator.

7. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Go Around Telling People I Talk To You. You're Not That Interesting. Get Over Yourself. And I Told You To Love Your Fellow Man, Can't You Take A Hint?

8. I'd Really Rather You Didn't Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You If You Are Into, Um, Stuff That Uses A Lot of Leather/Lubricant/Las Vegas. If the Other Person Is Into It, However (Pursuant To #4), Then Have At It, Take Pictures, And For The Love Of Mike, Wear a CONDOM! Honestly, It's A Piece of Rubber. If I Didn't Want It To Feel Good When You Did It I Would Have Added Spikes, Or Something.

then if you have a problem try another forum in yahoo answers. it only stands to reason if you have a question in religion and spirituality that alot of people are gonna try help you the way they seek help. that includes scripture. you say you are lost then settle down, determine what you want to do and decide what is the best way to find yourself. decide for yourself what approach you need to take, yahoo answers seems like its traumatized you so don't use it, talk to your friends at school, church neighborhood, ask your pastor......explore the different avenues and you will come across what you are looking for eventually.

Billy,
I'm sorry, dude. I will quote scripture when I feel the need. I don't see a need rtight at this second, but you definitely have a problem if you don't want to see scripture. I would understand if the scripture was being used badly, as in out of context, but you have to grow up. You are very weak if you consider yourself a christian and DON'T want to see scripture.

I doubt if you denomination is teaching at all about the Bible. You don't have the love of God's word in your heart?

Are you one of those that think that in order to be a Christian you have to be good? Kinda like many of the Mormons and Roman Catholics that come here? They say, "You have to try to be good to be a Christian." And then they go about their lives trying to 'live up' to their idea of what good is.

Not a way to be if you want to please God, Billy. Because Jesus didn't say, be good and go to heaven. He said believe on Him. Those are two completely different things!

EDIT: They know you are weak, Billy. Look, the vultures want you to convert to Islam. I think tht it's decision making time for you. Are you in Christ with your eyes on the Word of God, or are you ready to be tossed in the wind? Your choice.

Communication is all about how one packages the message.

Truthfully, I have read the Bible and I couldn't really understand alot of it until I became older.

There is nothing wrong with searching for your own spiritual path to God. No, you will not go to hell for seeking a more intimate relationship with God. What you will do is be even more fortified in you beliefs. Why? Because you didn't just do what someone else has told you to do, but because you discovered the beauty of God yourself.
Peace...

Curious, are you more interested in what man has to say rather than God? I thought you were tired of that, seeing that is how the Epicopal Church operates.

If you are looking for answers that pertain to life and godliness, then the bible is the greatest source of information to turn to, 2 Pet 1:3.

If you have a particular question you are searching, ask and be thankful to God for having an answer.

Try "A Course in Miracles." Very interesting stuff. I'm responding to your comment about being lost. As to the other comment, I agree that many Christians turn people off by spouting scripture and such.

i don't think you need help , ask yourself what is really wrong in this moment ,and don't be deceived by your mind reject every answer be in the present ,if you could not think you will see that you have no problem it is all start when you think that you have one, you are needed, cuz you are here , something will be missing without you, i am that you are that and that's all there is, it is beautiful.

All that's required is to believe that God loves you, that Jesus came to earth, died and rose again in payment for you're sin. Then live you're life like He is the most important thing to you, it's that easy.
