I am, I have to say, in exceptionally good health. I am over 40 and have all but perfect vision without glasses; I can hear the same high frequency sounds that teenagers can hear. I rarely get colds and get over them quickly. I certainly have had no significant illnesses. I am also an atheist of the first order.
I make these points not, I hope, to appear smug - I am daily grateful for my my good fortune in my own good health and that of my family - but to indicate how arbitrary these things are. In a world overlooked by the kind of god some people seem to believe in, I should (despite what I think is a morally good lifestyle) be peppered with festering cankers. Any sickness among the pious, and my own health, indicates to me nothing more than the tragic irony of hoping that there is a god out there looking after us.

I smoked almost everyday for around 3 years (Uni)! After being forced to stop due to a family holliday, I noticed that I felt less stressed and more refreshed on waking in the morning. I only smoke when I feel like it now which is usually 2-3 x month. I'm not preaching by the way.... Medical conditions - MS, glaucoma, fibromyalgia, any chronic pain syndromes, cancer, HIV/AIDs, and drug addiction (opiates). Most impossible to fake but fibromyalgia is a clinical diagnosis meaning that there is no test.

I live with chronic pain from a car wreck and an illness. I have intestinal yeast overgrowth. It has changed my life. Ive lived with it for 5 yrs. I didnt know what I had for over 4 yrs. It literally was killing me and there wasnt a doc that knew what I had or was willing to help me till I got my tonsils out and THAT doc sent me to the right doc.
Now, for the last 9-10 months, Ive been going thru treatment. Im much better, but have a ways to go.
This illness caused nausea, pain all over my body, allergies, screwed up my female hormones, screwed up my thyroid hormones, caused constipation, diahrea, weakness, and much more. I was getting more and more depressed the longer it went on.
I got this illness from too many antibiotics.

I am legally blind, I have arthritis in my hips, fingers , left knee and my toes. Genetically I have a bad heart.
All this can be used for His greater glory. The things I can do with all this (including type 64 wpm) are all due to the strength I receive from Christ.
I write devotionals with a computer - and my fingers arthritic. I see my computer screen though I am legally blind. I walk and stand in front of 60 women per month because Christ gives me the strength to do so.

That is a real good question,I believe that possibly some people were designed with birth defects but as far as the others I think that depends on age and how much wear and tear we have put our bodies through!!

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Palindromic Rheumatism, Osteoarthritis, and Fibromyalgia. I keep them under control by a full regimine of chemotherapy.
These are genetic disorders, and other family members have them too.

We gained all of the above when Satan took control after Adam disobeyed God in Eden. Keep the faith, the end is on it's way.
