My friend has just viewed a property with "such great potential" in Newcastle, UK. It used to be a public urinal!!!! He thinks it's a great fixer upper because it's got nice architecture and would be the prettiest house on the street. Please answer and talk some sense into him!

It has been badly converted but needs a loo(funnily enough!), A kitchen, central heating, a staircase, the floor needs levelling because it is slanted to drain into a gutter, and it needs two bedrooms with dormer windows made out of the attic.

Oh yeah and there's hole that needs plugging (ha-ha not really just exaggerating).

What difference does it make - as long as it is gutted, it probably does have alot of potential - people who do well in real estate are the ones that can see past the issues that stop others from buying.

It sounds like he could have a gem in the rough.

Beauty if in the eye of the beholder. Which stall will be used for the bedroom?

He'll definitely have a good story to tell at holiday gatherings. "By the way you are now sitting where stall #2 was!"

it sounds crazy to me but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. if he thinks its gorgeous he should go for it, but i would advise him not to get his hopes up about it. he probably shouldnt tell potential buyers that little piece of info either :)

Well...the good news is, he can put the loo any place he likes.
