Debra M,
You know what? For a lack of a better example check it out;
Have you seen the movie, "The Ten Commandments" with Charlton Heston? You know how he speaks about God, in the trust He had for God to uphold His word? Something like that.

I do not attempt, of my own accord, to act like Christ. Rather, through faith I trust Him, and He does the changing in me that He thinks I need. So I come off rather harsh or fleshly sometimes because that's the way I am. I've accepted it. While on the flip side of the coin, I have His Spirit in me to work the works that He inspires. I wouldn't have it any other way.

To me, filthy communication isn't cussing. It a vocabulary of doubt. When someone says things like, how are we going to ever do it? Or we are in a mess and I don't think that we are getting out of it. THAT is filthy, fleshly, and godless speech.

As an unbeliever living in a mostly Christian society, ALL I'm asking Christians is to leave us alone. To make their laws for themselves, if they want, but not to impose them on us. I mean there is no reason whatsoever a person cannot marry someone their own sex, to give just an example. The only reasons I've heard for this are based on religious beliefs and convictions. Well, I'm not asking (and I'm not even gay) for you to accept gay marriage. I'm asking for you not to stop it from happening OUTSIDE the boundaries of religions. You don't like it, you don't do it. But let others do it.

This was just an example. But I think you get the idea, right?

While all believers are not christians, most believers believe that there is a being higher than themselves.I say that to say, that self-examination, instead of juding others ranks pretty high on the belief scale.By examining yourself, you can accept the err of your ways, confess that you are are sinner, in need of spiritual cleansing, and repent.Going through life w/ love in your heart and compassion for your fellowman. Seeking God's will in your life, through the blessings and the tribulations.

For me a real issue in determining a christian is there willingess to repent. Admitting they are wrong and trying to make it right even in very uncomfortable situations. When I hear a woman/man gossip that profess to be a christian I watch there reaction when confronted. Does he/she deny it or do they admit they were wrong and say they are sorry. David was a great example of quick to repent. It tells if the heart is on themselves or the things of God. I also look for honesty. That again tells me where their heart is. Is it on themselves and their gain or on doing what is right. If I can't believe them on the little things I can't trust them on the big things

Living God's commandments and being accountable for my actions. Be a model for others to see what Yeshua can do in their life.

Making them say I want that peace and life that he has. That's a Christian.

Following especially these:

Mark 12:30-31 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

i think the examples would come from reading the lives of the various saints we have. also modern day missionaries in 3rd world countries. mother Theresa is always a good model for a rue christian lifestyle. others include the monks and nuns because they daily serve and are devoted to god. i try my best like everyone else, you don't need to be any of the above to be a true christian but we can learn and draw from them to help guide us to better union with god. peace be with you.

I dont believe there is such a thing as a 'true' christian. None of us are perfect. We can take the teachings from christianity and help them to become our 'true selves'.

They look like anyone walking down the street on a daily basis. they are the people smiling and being kind, loving and generous. those that do not judge others for the things that they believe are wrong, they are those people who pray for those who they believe are living in sin, rather than judging and downgrading. They are the people when they see someone in need they address that need in stead of talking about it. they are the people who are your neighbor. Good luck and God bless

I would say the way someone in the peace corp lives. They would live without money and spreading knowledge and help to those around them and in the world. They would also do their best to follow all the commandments.

the life of a ture christian. well it could vary greatly. but in my opinion.

they would be tolerant and loving of others even if they did not see eye to eye on their beliefs.

(love thy neighbour)

they would go to church if there was one that preached their beliefs. but if that could not find a church that they agreed with they would set aside a day to read the bible.

they would seek to live as Jesus lived. in peace and harmony with the people around them and the land under them.
