it is common for people to get black eyes from having teeth pulled. I also reccomend her going to a Dr and have him check out why she is bruising so easily lately. It might be an iron deficiency. take care!!!

No that's not unusual at all.I don't know where the tooth was located,but if they really have to work to get the tooth out it's not unusual at all.And with her condition also is a contributing factor.I would only worry if it doesn't start to look like it's healing up in a few days.My husband had all 4 of his wisdom teeth and 2 that were unfixable.So a total of 6 teeth were pulled at once.After a day or two he had those lovely shades of yellow green and blue and purple,not only around his eyes, but all over his cheeks and neck. It almost looked like they had held him down with straps on his neck. So keep an eye on her,and if you're uncomfortable on Mon.then call the doctor.Take care and God bless.

You did not mention whether it was an upper tooth or not. If it was an upper molar and your mom is "older," I am not terribly surprised that she got a black eye after a difficult extraction.
If you have not had the bruising evaluated since it started, I'd suggest that a visit to the MD is in order.

~~~ your eyes ,,ears,,,nose,,,and mouth are all conected somehow to the nasel cavity,,,,trauma to the mouth can indeed cause a black eye,,,,always best to check with your Dr too,,,because if your mom has parkinsons disease you dont want to take chances if it may be something besides her getting her tooth pulled.,,,
I haven't really heard of that happening.
Just to be safe I would go to your family doctor. It may be nothing, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
