i just started a relationship with my best guy friend but i can't help the feeling that he questions why i like him so much. he's even asked me to rate him on attractiveness numerous times. i keep telling him that i care more for his personality than his looks but he doesn't seem to get it. while i think physical attraction is key to a good relationship, i just wish it wasn't so important to him. my love for him isn't based on appearance but it's so hard to get him to see that. idk what to do to show him because it's obvious that it's not getting through. what should i do?

You sould be a little patient with him. Even though his attactivenes is not important to you, it seems like it is important to him. He probably feels like you're blowing off the matters without giving them proper attention. Some people really do need alot of verbal reassurance. Try again couple of times, and if it still bugs you - maybe he's not your type after all. You don't want to be hearing this every day for the rest of your life if it bugs you.

He is the inscure person you chose and dealing with it is unfortunately, now your load.
I guess you can try to make barfing motions at pictures of Brad Pitt... That proves to him that you're after an alternate attractiveness. Works for me. I'm actually serious.

some guys make a hobby of personal grooming
just like some guys build model airplanes
you either accept his harmless obsession or you set him on the path to his next romance.
Q. he's your best guy friend and you didn't foresee the problem?
A. obviously, he thinks you have "fallen for his charms".
In my mind it's just friends with benefits.
