But some people consider it rude for you to judge them and tell them what they should believe. It can be highly offensive, even if you don't realize it.

Many non-belivers think that Christians are judging them and in many cases they are right. Most of use do not know how to use judgment and we end up condeming with a holier than thou attitude.
I choose to use the word discernment when I make a suggestion to someone or rebuke them. It should always come from love and compassion for that person not from trying to be better than them!
"The Pharisees judged people by external matters, and they thought they had the right to condemn others in a final judgment. And what was worse, they judged others for things that they themselves were doing. Those who are quick to judge will be judged more strictly bu God." (1)

thou shall not judge or thou shall be judged
this will leave the court of law without a judge at all and a competition shall have no winners
it simply tells us not to be an a s s h o l e
so before we say or do something be sure of that we know what we are talking about or someone smarter or really knows better will pounce on you to show proofs of what you meant
just like what's happening right here on this webste
so the famous saying by thomas
we do not know 1 % of one million of the things that we thought we knew
all in all, we are all still learning about something and it's a life long learning process till the end of our lives
even so after death, probably the spirits are still learning and searching to get out of their misery
so it's always better to do more listening than talking until we're ripe old enough to tell someone what to do
Then it's time to teach and judge someone
get what i mean?

There are many passages that tyeach about judging, and the necessity for doing so.
1 John 4:1 teaches "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: becasue many false prophets have gone out into the world."
Yes, it is biblical to test ones actions and words to the scriptures.
Besides this, every person makes judgments every day. This is evident by some of the remarks you received. Are they not judgmental?

You are talking about discernment and rebuke, not judgment.
Judgment--as in "Judge not, lest ye be judged"--is assuming the power of God and judging another person's soul. We are told not to do this because we are not God and therefore not competent judges. It is hubris and blasphemy to judge another's soul.
Discerning that one's behavior or attitudes are not aligned with God's will is a different matter, and if one sees another who is misaligned, one may point it out in the manner of a rebuke. This is nowhere near the act of judging another person's soul. Instead, it is evaluating his or her actions and seeing them to be errant.
However, you should keep in mind that going around and telling others how they are doing wrong is a possible pitfall, in that you could become so focused on other's shortcomings that you lose sight of your own. "The mote in your brother's eye" and "the beam in your own."
Moreover, it is a bad idea to go around rebuking people who are not open to your counsel. This puts you in a holier-than-thou position.
That is, one must also use sensitivity and discernment in deciding who to reproach and who to leave be.

If you have a friend or loved one who is drinking too much, for example, then of course you should go to him in private, lovingly. That’s what Christ said to do. Go to them in private. And if they don’t listen take a couple of friends with you.
But that is completely different than screaming at complete strangers they are going to hell for this reason or that. When Christians behave that way, the only thing they accomplish is to turn people off, including other Christians. Besides it’s not for us to say who is going to hell.

Judge others and you will be judged.
It is better to not judge at all.
Let the creator judge for himself as scripture say.
Judgement and perception partly contributes to the downward spiral of an individual.
Also instead of 'telling' others what to do; it is better to 'guide' them and BE the example.

Yeah, there are as many interpretations of the bible as there are readers of the bible. But don't forget that the ONLY law that we all are bound to is the law of Congress or Parliament or whatever it's called wherever you live. The rest is folklore.
