Is there a good software package for self employed individuals?

without any more information than that I can tell you that you probably need a schedule C and Schedule SE.

Add'l info: Quicken or Quickbooks (if you need invoices and such) or any similar software. I suspect you just need something to show your income and expenses. I use Quicken and download my banking information on it. Most larger banks have that capability these days. Preparing your taxes would mainly be just running a report from your Quicken transactions and getting the info on your return.

If you have a business entity for your real estate business, then you need to file as a small business. Otherwise, you can file as you normally would.

Quicken is good for accounting purposes.
You will still need to use paper or spreadsheet of some sort to keep track of your miles. It is 44.5 cents per miles this year.
TurboTax is good is you want to do your own tax.
