My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost two years. We are both college students and don't have jobs. This upcoming weekend is Sweetest Day on saturday and our two year anniversary on sunday. I know he will get me a card and flowers but I really want him to surprise me with something like he did ast year. I realize I can't expect anything too great but I know by the end of the weekend I'm going to feel disappointed. I don't think that he feels this weekend should be a big deal and it is. I'v tried talking to him about it and everytime I bring it up, he get annoyed with me. What can I do so that I don't feel like this weekend will be a waste?

Isn't spending time together enough? Have a nice dinner together and have sex. You both don't have jobs so don't expect too much.

It will not be a waste, if the two of you are together. Now you know he does not have a job. So why are you going to be disappointed, Thank him, for what ever he gets, do not be ungrateful, You know from the start, that he can't afford much. It is enough selfish people in this world, for you to be one too! Be grateful that you have each other, you have your health and strength, and that you are in college, to make a better life for yourself. You have so much to be grateful for! Think about it!

Be VERY HAPPY that you have a wonderful boyfriend who loves you. Believe me my girlfriend was almost more happy when I got a
handful of wildflowers and a card on our 4Th anniversary, than a $1900 ring from Tiffany's on our First anniversary. For Real! Be grateful! He doesn't even have a job!

How about you surprise him....Make him a 'special meal'. The most wonderful gifts don't have to cost much. It is what is in the heart when you make it. Or maybe suggest instead of store bought cards you are going to each make homemade cards. Then maybe he will see what you did for him and he will want to do something for you.
