Well that depends on what kind of god your talking about. Are you talking about God meaning one god or just any other god(s) meaning polytheistic way of god? cuz to tell you the truth.. there's only ONE TRUE GOD and that's God almighty who brought His Son, Jesus to die on the cross and suffer for me and YOU... He's the one and true God that you will LOVE AND ENDURE with forever and ever. Do you have faith? Cuz if you do, then I know for sure you know who God is and why he brought you here to this world.

god------a god is what you put your trust in above anything else.
The true God is Jesus Christ as spoken of in Bible.
John is a great book to start knowing the one true God.
