I am a pigeon fancier.

It started when I used to watch them at the park.

Now I have 2 in a cage in a special room in my basement. Their names are Ted and the Gimp.

I have some photos to share.

Is there a club I could join to meet other pigeon fanciers?

I think perhaps you should investigate the Man-Pigeon Society.

Formed several years ago in a major U.S. city by ex-patriot members of the Skull and Bones, who ran short of Congressional Pages.

I've raised pigeons for almost 50 years now, and, yes, there are a lot of clubs - for various breeds and also for specific breeds.

Depending on where you live: you could check

National Pigeon Association for the U.S. at http://www.npausa.com

National Pigeon Association for the U.K at: http://www.zyworld.com/NPA/index.htm

National Pigeon Association for Australia at: http://www.anpa.com.au/

Those are more groups for show pigeons. If you have some pet feral pigeons (which is how a lot of us started), then you might also want to log on and go to Yahoo Groups:

Some pigeon groups are:

geneticsforpigeons

911PigeonAlert

rarevarietypigeonsociety

Pigeons

Those are some good ones, where you would be made to feel comfortable. If you happen to live in the southern California area, the Pageant of Pigeons is coming up the week before Thanksgiving and will be held in San Bernardino. There should be about 4-5000 birds there.

Enjoy.
